Classes 2012

Classes have started full of show and tell and news from the Christmas break.
Thank you for all the lovely emails and cards regarding our Summer School I am so pleased you all had such a good time. Next years dates 16-20th of January.
A big thank you to all the girls who signed up for correspondence school you have kept me busy! I hope you are all working on part one.
Gosh 2012 I am really counting down the weeks until my grandson is born apparently he is 6 pounds with 5 weeks to go, so cute.
Also I have my new luggage for my trip to the U.S is anyone else going to Paducah? only 10 weeks to go.
I have enrolled in a couple of classes looking forward to being a student and not the teacher.
My sewing for 2013 has nearly started just a couple of drawings to do then I will choose the fabric, yes hints will be given.
Speaking of fabric I sold 27 scrap bags at Summer School  approximately 22 kilos of fabric and yet my shelves look like nothing happened, I don't think that needs any more thought except I wish it was that easy for me to loose kilos.

A special mention to all the girls who did their preparation homework went shopping and bought new fabric, folders and  new project baskets all ready for the new quilts, so good to be organised.

Today is a sunny day first one in a long while so I think as it is early afternoon I will have a cup of coffee in the garden.

Summer School

Hi everyone, I know it has been a long time but Christmas and then Summer School has kept me very busy.
First Happy New Year to you all, I think my new year has started off as one of the best although it was my first time planning an event like Summer School I had the best time doing it, it did help you were all so wonderful to deal with makes it a pleasure to organise.

My new grandson will be here in nine weeks so the countdown is on, so excited!

I will be doing the correspondence mail this week so if you have your name down you will receive the information for 2012 soon, that is my next priority.

This news is mainly about Summer School so Lot's of photos for you.
A big thank you to Blueberries and Patchwork Plus for the donation of the lovely prizes the girls loved them.
Everyone fell in love with Lorraine's Cream Tea so I had to run home and print patterns, not enough to do apparently!
Also thank you to Rhonda of Post office Patchwork who gave us a wonderful talk on Saturday night, the show and tell was magnificent.

I really enjoyed having dinner with different groups over the five days it is nice to be included in your time in The Blue Mountains, it also gave me the opportunity to catch up with you all.
I will be sending you all an email with details for next year I just need to finalise the dates.

I have spent the morning smiling at all the photos so I hope you have a nice cup of tea and enjoy the memories.

I finally finished The Folk Art Quilt, my helpers on set up day Anna and Jake holding the quilt.

Classes.

We had four shops visit, fantastic, one comment was her bankcard had taken it like a MAN.

We had lovely food it was very sad today when no scones arrived at 11.

We were next to the park it was so nice to sit outside for lunch, the flowers on the table were beautiful Blackheath rhododendrons.

 Saturday night dinner at the Paragon was a fantastic night, great food and excellent company.

Rhonda was our guest speaker with a show and tell that made everyone clap as each quilt was held up.

My family asked if I was tired after my five days and my answer was yes but it was a happy tired, does that make sense? I came away feeling inspired and ready to get on with next years quilts.

Thank you for your feedback all of your suggestions were fantastic and I have already decided to implement every suggestion.

Looking forward to my regular classes starting first of February hope your all ready to get started.

Merry Christmas!

Hi Everyone sorry it has been a while but since class finished I have been flat out.

My husband ordered a skip to put rubbish in so I have done out every cupboard in my house, boy did we have some rubbish. My kitchen was the worst, for someone who doesn't cook I seem to have plenty of equipment., as I had no idea what some of it was its all gone.

I also had one of the best days shopping ever, my son and his partner are having a baby next year so yes I will be a grandmother, honestly I just can not stop smiling and shopping for the baby was wonderful.

Of course I have done some Christmas shopping and as all my family are coming for boxing day I have sourced wonderful easy cooking tips from you all, Kathryn your pasta recipe was wonderful.

Today I moved Anna out of uni for the last time, so many books to pack.

I will be posting lots of quilts after Christmas but I wanted to get a post done before Christmas day so you could see some of the girls who have shared their wonderful work this year.

For those of you doing Miss Austen's Garden a range called Papillion by Moda will be in store in January and the blue is perfect for the quilt. These were samples Jackie brought back from the U.S so Blueberries will definitely have the range.

The Saturday group in Mittagong decided to go out for lunch, we walked through this wonderful garden and sat outside in The Sturt Gallery garden.

A very Merry Christmas from all the girls.



I will be sending another email out soon with all the final details for Summer School.

This has been a lovely week I have caught up with lots of friends in the mountains and I am looking forward to Christmas with family which is what the season is all about.
