Autumn storms.

Hi everyone,
Autumn has so far been a challenge huge storms,Blackheath was white with hail and freezing... Perfect for sewing!
Hope you were all safe and off the road.

On Sunday I had a lovely day at the Springwood Quilt Show.
Rhonda was the featured artist, her work is truly inspirational.
I had three quilts in the show so I can share these photos.
The V&A Quilt made 2010
I loved the V&A fabrics printed for the 2010 quilt show.
Birds and blooms and May Baskets.

The Durham Quilt.
Susie quilts so many quilts for everyone it was lovely to see one of her class projects completed.
I loved my Durham Quilt, when my sister Wendy turned fifty I let her pick the quilt she would like for her birthday, I was alittle surprised  when she chose The Durham as I thought it very soft in colour for her but she said it was the one that would remind her most of me.
Very happy thinking of it keeping my sister warm.

Some photos from class today at Cottage Quilt Works.

My purchases... So far
Oh I missed the blue birds
Adorable.
Looking forward to all the May classes

Catch up

Hi everyone,
Sorry it's been a while but I bought a new phone so I have had my head in The Clouds trying to retrieve my photos and files... Well not enough storage space left and still can't work out how to find out what's up there and how to get it out!
I decided to stay calm and move on.

So the final two blocks of The Friendship Quilt or BOM to the correspondence girls have been given out so now the quilt can be sewn together.
Borders this month (I have photos of the quilt but they are in the cloud)
There are photos on Instagram it is very easy to keep up on Instagram not hard to sign up.

Willeke Van Der Wal has sent photos of her very beautiful Sampler

I just love it especially her unique designs, looking forward to seeing your students quilts as well.

Two very nice centres for the start of Plain and Fancy.

Wendy's lovely three inch stars.

Helen's blocks for The Friendship Quilt.
I am sitting in my garden on this lovely sunny Sunday getting the required vitamin D will see this afternoon.
I was hoping to have super powers today having been bitten by a spider (not poisonus) but no just a horrible bite mark!
On that note I will go inside for a cup of tea.
Thanks girls for a great start to another year of stitching,
KC or Keesie to some of you.

Happy New Year!

Hi everyone,
Hope you all had a great Christmas and now the New Year is in full swing ready to stitch new quilts or get a few finished.

The start of 2015 has been fantastic so far. Summer School was the best ever.
The Jester quilt is on the cover of Quilters Companion and there is a stunning photo of Birds and Blooms in Quilt Mania.

I am looking forward to starting a new class in Camden at The Stitchers Cupboard and meeting a new group of ladies.
And of course catching up with everyone in my regular classes.

Back to Summer School here are some photos for you.
As you can see I have finished the BOM
I will be sending mail outs first week in February.
Also Rhonda has finished Ann Randoll if you didn't come to SS and still need some of the pattern let me know.
Denise made a king size Birds and Blooms
Gorgeous!!

Everyone hard at work.

My retrospective went well all my early quilts dating from 1997 to early 2000's
Here are just a few.

Rhonda has nearly finished her latest half inch hexie.
So beautiful!

We decided to learn cross stitch, thanks to Karen of The Stitching Post we all succeeded.
A group is now meeting once a month to continue and make a Sampler.
We are called A Flock of Sparrows.
Of course I need my high tech goggles to see the holes in my linen... Not a great look.
We will be incorporating cross stitch next year as we all loved it.
Well that is my first blog for 2015 I will try to post at the beginning of each month this year and of course Instagram
in between.
A big thank you to all the girls who came along to SS you all make it such a wonderful five days!
Looking forward to catching up with everyone in February.
